Past the Pane (Let Love Begin)
words and music by Bill Pere
So what did you mean when you said you'd like to know who I am?
Was it for real, or just another scam?
Boy, you've got a reputation and it ain't good...
Never a day when you don't cross the line
So why am I here tryin'
To look through the window of your eyes, and past the pane
There's a frightened child hiding there within
If you know someone's here would it calm all the fear?
Would it let love begin?
No you never were much to look at, so why can't I look away?
You don't seem like the type I'd give the time of day
Boy, I had an expectation, never thought I would
Ever, ever pay you any mind
But we're just two of a kind
Look through the window of my eyes, and past the pane
There's a frightened child hiding here within
If you know someone's here would it calm all the fear?
Would it let love begin? So here we are standing, staring, don't quite know what to do
Are you looking at me or just seeing right through?
Boy we got a situation , I think we should
Put what others say ‘bout us behind
And be surprised by what we find Look through the window of
our eyes, and past the pane
There are frightened children hiding here within
If you know someone's here it would calm all the fear
It would let love begin
